Chipmunkapublishing Uses ODFToEPub
TIENEN, BELGIUM - 13 Sep 2011: CHIPMUNKAPUBLISHING USES ODFTOEPUB. The publishing company, specialized in mental health, has used ODFToEPub to convert about 900 titles to ePub. The books are now available at the Apple iBooks store. The Kindle versions can be purchased at Amazon.
Pincette's ODFToEPub product makes it very easy to produce e-books in the
standard ePub format. One can start from a manuscript which is written in a
regular text processor. It took one member of staff only three months to
convert all 900 titles

publisher prepares manuscripts using Microsoft Word. The documents are then
opened in OpenOffice.org, where the ODFToEPub button is pushed. Over 80% of
the books, which contain pictures, could be converted without modification

This approach makes it possible to start from one document format and publish in several media, without imposing a lot of restrictions on authors. Authors can therefore focus on what they do best, which is writing. ODFToEPub makes it easy for publishers to extend their production process into the electronic publishing world, with minimal overhead and hardly any learning curve. It doesn't require any knowledge about HTML, CSS or ePub.
Although Pincette provides excellent e-mail support, Chipmunkapublishing
managed to do the job without any help. With ODFToEPub the publisher is
independent and maintains full control over the e-book production process.
Moreover, the generated e-books work fine on all the major e-reader families.
Since the cost of one license is much lower than one outsourced book, the
savings over the next five years will be considerable
